Announcing Roadmap and Project List:
Two new views within Meisterplan to help you adapt and share portfolio information

We’re eager to announce the Roadmap and Project List as new views within Meisterplan to better help you answer important questions and make more informed decisions. The Roadmap will allow your users to see all their projects on a time axis and what business goal the projects relate to. Visualization leads to a better understanding of projects which can empower companies to make decisions that lead to growth. Once decisions have been made, the Project List provides a more tactical look into projects and makes managing projects and their important components a much easier task.

This Isn’t Your Normal Project Roadmap

Meisterplan’s new Roadmap was designed for getting results without giving up flexibility. With our Roadmap, companies can visualize their projects grouped by specific business goals. You can easily see your planned and ongoing projects and how they specifically relate to a business goal. This high-level view allows decision-makers to understand if projects are in line with their goals and if they need to take action to adapt the portfolio if projects are not aligned.

What Is a Roadmap?

A Roadmap is a strategic plan that displays a goal (or other desired outcome) in terms of chronological dimension. In other words, it shows progress or efforts towards a goal on a timeline. A Roadmap will contain the main steps necessary to achieve goals overtime. It can also serve as a communication tool that helps explain the “why” of both the goal and the plan for getting there.

If you’ve used a roadmap in the past and it left a bad taste in your mouth, it’s likely because many roadmaps are extremely rigid and difficult to adapt. This rigidity can hinder creative thinking and strategic risk-taking. If a roadmap isn’t flexible, it likely will become unrealistic when markets and customer demands change. Use the Project List View to Get Information Faster

Need to prepare for a meeting to discuss projects that are behind schedule? No problem. Just sort your Project List by Status and immediately see all the projects that need immediate attention. The Project List shows all your projects and important project characteristics like project manager, status and department among others. When you need to answer specific questions, you can sort your Project List by any project field such as Status or Stage Gate. This allows users to immediately get insight into projects such as finding out which projects are the most expensive or seeing a list of all projects that are going on at a specific location.
